Japanese hair straightening worth it?

I am of middle eastern descent and have tried basically everything to depoof and defrizz my hair. I get a keratin treatment about once a year and it kind of helps.

Every time I go to my stylist she always recommends that I Japanese hair straighten. I've told her I'm so worried that it would make my hair fall out and severely damage it. Has anyone had this treatment? Would you recommend it? Any major damage?

I haven't had it but my aunt did, we're of Indian descent and she struggles with thick, frizzy hair. She got the treatment and had no adverse side effects, her hair stayed straight for a little over a year :)
