I really want my nose pierced
but I'm kind of scared to ask my
parents. I know there are pros and cons but could you give me some tips to convince my parents?

Just get it, My parents didnt agree to piercings so I did it anyway, a nose piercing is nothing worth them worrying over much.

Don't. in the end you will regret it. spend the money on make up or a nice pair of mid range heels (Betsy? Michael more?)

Different story if you had'nt lived with your parents until you were 15 years old, like I was going to listen to what they had to say.

Damn I'm in the same boat but my parents are so set against it because we're Christian & they think that it relates to Hinduism, (I'm Guyanese) it sucks :/

If you are too young to get it without parental consent...wait. I have mine done and I've had it for about six or seven years. I've taken almost all my other piercings out but my nose ring completes me. HOWEVER I got it done over the age of 18, and with a needle in a proper piercing shop.

I've had mine done before but I took it out because as I got older, I realized it's not for me and not very professional. I'm married with a two year-old and one on the way AND I work in the corporate world. I have about ten tattoos but no one knows I have them unless I show them. All that to say this, be careful about anything you do to your face piercing wise.

Tell them it's a form of self expression and it will boost your self confidence! And make sure to get it done in a proper piercing shop with a sterilized needle! If you have any heterotrophic scarring or keloids make a paste of crushed up aspirin and water and leave it on the piercing over night. Ohhhh and when you're cleaning the piercing try to avoid using h2ocean or bactine or whatever, instead make a saline solution using sea salt and water - it keeps the piercing clean and washes out gross shit but also promotes blood flow which will help with healing :) sorry for preaching my nose piercings gave me hell bahahah.

Think long and hard because if you end up not liking it and remove it you will be left with a hole. Another thing to think about...you are 13 years old and far from a professional career but if you want to work in corporate America good luck getting a job because its deemed not acceptable. Every single Fortune 500 company I consulted for banned facial piercings of any kind (ears were fine but not tongue, nose, brows). And even where my husband works they are banned and he deals with chemicals all day. As a parent of three kids...one of them 13...I'm not going to give you advice on how to convince your parents to agree to a piercing because I wouldn't want someone to doing the same with my 13 yr old. But I will say this though. Wait till you're 18 when you can consent yourself. Don't be so quick to do adult things now as a 13 yr old.

Obey your folks, even if you do not agree. if you still want one when you are on your own, get one! Any scarring will be minimal. I think in some areas they are more accepted by society than in other areas.

Look honey, just sit down with them, and let them know that you would like your nose pierced. If they say yes ok, but if they say no, it is not the end of the world. Remember you are staying under there roof. Me I got my nose done at age 14, no issues from it, still pierced.

You can find fake magnetic piercings too. I had one when I was in middle school. My dad hated the idea of me getting anything but my ears done but the magnetic thing was ok with him and satisfied my desire for that look.
