Lately I've been hearing a lot about perms... And I'm thinking like super spiral ringlets! But I'm wrong! What I hear about is a semi permanent way to make your hair wavy/curly. Is this a real deal and if so what's it called?

It'd just a different type of perm you got to ask the person who does your hair.

Ooooh I'll have to give it a try next time! My hair is long and super thick, such a pain to curl!

My hair is permed. Just talk to a stylist (INCLUDE PICTURES!) of what kind of curl you would like! You can do anything these days! With my hair, we go for a nice, fairly tight curl then by the time it's time to redo I've got a little beachy wave :)

Oh cool! Rachel do you have pictures I'd love to see the tight curls! Also how often do you do it?

This is the best picture I have :( and it sucks haha I'm sorry! It kind of depends, how frequently. I am a hairdresser so one of the main factors is when there is time in the salon :P this last time we went with a larger rod (looser) and it has fallen out more quickly. I believe it was done 2 months ago, and because my hair is colored and highlighted, it'll be a few more weeks. When we did a rod that was quite a bit smaller I think it was about 5 months. Keep in mind, the longer the hair the more weight is pulling on the curl. Whenever I do a perm on anyone with longer or thicker hair, I recommend going a little tighter at first, that way it's not straight in a week.

I'm rambling, sorry hehe

Can perms damage your hair like relaxers? I'm natural but I want curly hair.

I habe always wanted to perm my hair in super tight girls.. my hair is long and thick enough. but it would be so expensive and I've had perms in the past that just didn't stay in :(
