Might try this. I bought a matte finish top coat from Revlon this last week but havent tried it.

Steam!! Hold your wet nails over a pot of boiling water. Magic matte :)

Yup! I've done it a few times now and it works like a charm! Just don't add a regular top coat; puts shine back on :)
