A really good tip thar I just recently discovered, is to rub vicks along your temples! :) it'll sooth and relieve those areas.

The best way is to lay down in a pitch black room with a cool flannel on your forehead :)

Yeah I agree with the girls, I had horrible migraines for years. best way is a dark room and sleep it off if possible, if not take some pain killers, lots of water, eat even though you don't feel like it youll feel better for it and lay down.

There's some medicine but most gives you nausea so pitch black room, no noise, don't eat anything sip water, and no air fresheners or smells! Just let it run its course ( I get them a lot mostly from dehydration or stress )

I have suffere with disabling migraines since my early thirties (thirty years). I use Imitrex. It is a prescription drug that comes in pills, nasal spray, or injection. I personally use the injection for speed. All of the other suggestions can be used in conjunction with the Imitrex. It should cut your suffering time by hours. Good luck honey, I really feel your pain. Hope this helps.

Leslie Imitrex has saved my life. I used to have to go to the hospital and they'd shoot me up with demoral to relieve the pain. Then I started using Imitex...miracle drug. Little known fact take 3 Aleve (naproxisodium) it is the same drug as in imitrex. Only thing that touches my migraines and makes them go away. Took 9 Advil one time it did nothing for the migraine. Still ended up in the hosp for a stupid shot. Hope you feel better soon hun. There is nothing worse than that pain but childbirth!

Jay be careful with alive, I like it too but when taken a lot it can tear up your stomach. My husband hurt his back and was taking it quite a bit (he refused to see a Dr at first also) but over a few weeks course he ending up with a bleeding ulcer because of the aleve. He was in so much pain then he broke down and finally went and got care. I tried to tell him, but he's stubborn lol. :)

Jay, I am allergic to all nsaids so I don't understand how aleve can be like Imitrex. Also, I often use heavy duty painkillers with Imitrex because I was yold that Imitrex is a vasconstrictor and not a painkiller. Where did you hear this because I would like to look into this before I o.d. on something. Thanks for the info.

Leslie thank you for the tip about taking too much Aleve. I know all about that having a sensitive stomach. I only take them when I get a migraine which is every couple of months or so now. But you are right they can do some serious damage to your stomach. I'm not really sure exactly which doctor told me about using Aleve instead Imitrex. It was over 15 to 20 years ago that I started taking them. All I know is that it is the only thing besides Imitrex that will even touch my migraines. Usually after I take a nap I feel much better and the pain has diminished greatly. I looked up some information on it here is the info I found this morning. All I can say is it definitely works for me thank God.
