Can you put a permanent dye over semi permanent?

Can you put a permanent dye over semi permanent? So I dyed my hair bright pink an purple and for about two months, but now I'm just tired of it and it's faded a good amount; well it's like a light pink color. Now I'm just ready to dye it back to black, but I didn't know if it would just wash out with the semi if I dye over it?

Yes it should be fine to dye over it now.
