So I'm always seeing these posts about girls that want really long hair. I've always had long hair. The steps are EXTREMELY simple.
There aren't magic shampoos, conditioners, or hair products that will make your hair grow overnight (at least none I've come across lol).

All you really need to do is be gentle with your hair, when you brush it section it off to make it easier instead of yanking through tangles. People normally say it's better to use a wide tooth comb for wet hair, but a normal paddle brush never did harm to my hair :b

Don't pile products into your hair! There's no need to use shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, hair gel, hairspray, hair mousse, and all these other fancy things all the time. I only used shampoo, conditioner, and l'oreal kids hair detangler. Along with heat protectant if I needed it.

Don't over use heat on your hair. This is a big one. Most girls straightened/curl their hair daily. Heat causes A LOT of damage to hair overtime, especially if you don't use heat protectant. My hair is naturally stick straight, so I only curled it with my hair wand on special occasions. If I wanted to curl my hair just for fun I found heatless alternatives such as bandana curls or sock bun curls.

Wash your hair every other day or every 3 days. Frequent or everyday washing will strip your hair of the natural oils that help to keep your hair soft and looking nice. I normally wash every other day.

Get trims! I recommend either once every month, once every 3 months, or once every six months. I personally get my hair trimmed once every 6 months or sometimes even once a year. This is only because I have healthy hair and I don't get split ends often. Many women try to "fix" their split ends, but the best thing to do is chop them!! Trimming will definitely help your hair grow longer faster.

I am proof that these tips do work. This was my hair June 2012. This was taken right before I cut 2 feet off of my hair for donation to the Locks-of-Love Foundation.

This is my hair just one year later in June 2013. Almost back to the same length! :)

I'm only a few inches off from my hair length last year. It takes time, patience, and gentleness. I've never dyed my hair by the way:

And keep in mind my hair is a bit curly/crimped so its about 2 inches longer than that 2nd pic.

Thank you :)

I also forgot to add that taking fish oil pills and drinking plenty of water will do wonders for your hair (and even your nails)!

Yes!! The only thing I do to my hair is wash it... Condition it comb it out lightly and blow dry it and when I flat iron it I use motions hair oil to protect it from heat and I trim my ends sometimes when they get uneven
