So I'm really hoping to get my 'scaffold/industrial' done but of course through research and all... I've come across all these horror stories about infection and all :/ I'm not a wuss with piercings but do any of you have success stories/advice on them? also, what's the usual healing time? thank youu :) x

Mine didn't get infected. I took it out for dance, but get it done professionally.

I have my tragus pierced and I just use witch hazel and a q-tip to clean it a couple times a day. It only got infected for a few days because I hit it pretty hard but I just kept cleaning it with witch hazel and after a day or two it was fine

I just got mine done 4 weeks ago and so far its doing alright. It is sensitive and tends to get irriated if it gets hit tho. I also got my helix done years ago and only got 1 infection for a few days. If you clean it properly and take care of it then you should be fine :)

I had the industrial piercing and the lower half never healed. Every time I have an earring in that hole it gets infected I don't know why /-: plus it was hard to get use to sleeping with it in if I laid on that side.

It will take 1-2 years to heal 100% ( inside also). I can recommend not to sleep on the ear where your piercing is taken because of the infection risk ( also it might hurt hehe) for some weeks. Risk for infection is also high in pools. Buy special wipes and clean the piercing with ☺

I have the scaffolding piercing and like any piercing it's prone to infection. Just make sure you keep it clean, don't fiddle with it as bacteria from the hands will go on/around the piercing. Also when you wash hair make sure hair is not at all attached or wrapped around the piercing and do your best to keep hair products away from it ie hair spray! A couple of weeks for the heeling process, depends on the person really, furthermore I want to say it doesn't hurt :) at all!

All I can say is get it done at a piercing studio by a professional and follow their after care instructions and you should be good to go!! I have experience with my own piercings and it pays to spend extra and get it done professionally
