Try to find a good shade that matches your skin tone ,and blend the concealer good with the rest of your face.Hope this helped..:)

I was skeptical to try it too, even though everyone has said great things about it. And I have not purchased it. Maybe try applying with a brush?

If you are very worried about concealers looking cakey, then you might be using a little too much of it. You can also use concealer underneath your bb cream/foundation even though the "right" way to apply it is usually after. I use more heavy duty concealers and I don't have perfect skin, so I usually use my concealers underneath my foundation. My foundation then helps evens my skin tone out.
