Spritz it with rubbing alcohol, take a clean toothbrush that you aren't going to use anywhere else (I use the free ones I get from my dentist) and brush the buildup out of the hairbrush with the tooth brush. I also try to remove any hair that gets on the brush right after I brush my hair so that cleaning doesn't become too tedious. hope this helps :)
