Hi! I use waterproof mascara. The reason for this is not because I want my mascara to last (even though that's a bonus!) but because my lashes cannot handle regular mascara. I don't know why and that is why I am asking everyone. Why would that be? My lashes are pin straight and I use a curler with a little heat to curl them and I tried that trick with regular mascara, but they wouldn't hold the curl. Waterproof does that for me...I don't understand why. Is there someone out there who would know??

Regular mascaras are water-based. That's why rain ruins it if you curled or straightned your hair. A lot of waterproof mascaras have oils instead of water, that's why your curl last better :)
