Dying faux leather?

I know this isn't really beauty related but I thought you guys could help :)

I have some brown faux leather boots that don't really go with anything, so I wanted to dye them black. What is the best dye to use for this? Also where can I get it? I'd rather go to an actual store and physically buy it, so Amazon.com and eBay aren't really options haha
