You could always buy a fake one and tell her, "I'm going to wear this around the house. If you feel comfortable with it in a certain amount of time,
maybe we can agree to pay halfsies for the piercing?"

Stud or septum? The studs are pretty tiny, and with the septum you can flip it up and hide it! Also, the nose heals very easily and is pretty good for cleanliness believe it or not.
