Best advice I know for dry hair: Fill some water in a container of some sorts, wait till the water is still, then pull out a straw of hair and gently put on the surface of the water. If it floats, it needs protein, if it sinks, it needs moisture! if it needs protein, go to a hair salon and ask for a good protein mask. morroccanoil has a really great one, and the paul mitchell strength series are awesome too. if it needs moisture, deep condition it, use a hair oil and leave in conditioner.

If it's dry from the chemicals in the pool use a clarifying shampoo, rusk has a good one. Just be careful if you have color in your hair, it stripped the pink I had in mine.

Use sulfate and sodium free shampoo/conditioners that are moisturizing as well as cleansing. My hair is curly and poofy and I use pro naturals moroccan argan oil shampoo/conditioner which are very hydrating and smoothing. Plus they smell amazing.
