I have freckles, and I'm okay with them, but sometimes I feel like they ruin the overall look for the make up I'm trying to do. Almost like they make my face make up look unfinished- especially if I've been in the sun. Is there anyway, without layering and layering products, that I can minimize their appearance?

try a full coverage foundation or concealer. apply the foundation first. then using either a little more foundation, or the concealer, apply it again where your freckles are until you get the coverage you want. apply a little at a time so you don't end up with too much. hope this helps. :)

It's so hard to cover freckles, especially if you have freckles like mine which are darker than my skintone, and not all the same exact colour! If I had to cover mine up, I would look terrible (a lot darker than I am)... so I just have to live with mine... maybe match your foundation to the lightest freckles you have so that those are covered but your skin still looks normal :)
And don't ever put your face in the sun without sunblock (or a hat and sunnies in my opinion)... it not only ruins your skin but makes your freckles darker (and if you are like me, you get more!)

If you're bound and determined to cover them use a full coverage foundation. MAC has several. The Dermablend line would get the job done as well. You can use some of the Dermablend foundation to cover tattoos without needing to color correct first. They'd definitely take care of freckles.
But beware, it will completely flatten out your face so you'll need to highlight and contour.
