I took up the oil cleansing method a month ago and my skin has improved so much! I no longer have flaky, red super sensitive skin. I can wear foundation and have it apply smoothly without patching up in areas and my break outs have disappeared (except a few spots around "that" time)
I really urge you ladies to try it! It works for all skin types and leaves your skin soft, supple and smooth. You will save lots of money, each bottle I believe could last for a year or more and do not expire. Its all natural and there is truly nothing bad to say about it. Here is a link to how it works:

I used the castor with olive oil, I researched them both and decided castor was the one for me

Have you tried any other oils besides castor oil and extra virgin olive oil? :) I'm very interested in this myself and glad you are sharing this ;) I have pretty bad skin myself and always open to new skin care routines and regimens. Thanks for sharing!

I have I only tried the castor and it's worked great!
Cassandra- I don't think you should. I just use the oil at night and in the morning splash my face with hot water use a toner and moisturize. At night I do not need to use night cream anymore I only apply my eye cream and once a week I exfoliate (I just add a bit of sugar to the oil or use baking soda and water) and use a night cream after that

You may need to exfoliate more often depending on your skin type but where I'm dry once a week is good.

Would you recommend this method for someone with cystic acne?
Jun 8, 2013
Brittany O.
Definitely , the poster on the link I posted was suffering from cystic acne that even doctors couldn't completely fix and she had amazing results!

Warning ladies - you may notice some extra bumps and spots the first week or so, it's just the oil and steam bringing everything out and I promise it goes away! I'm very dry and my best friend is oily and it has worked for both of us and cause us both to get bumps the first week or so!

I'm going to do this like ASAP. I'd love to have a clear face and Brittany you're results look gorgeous. Your skin looks so smooth.
About how long did it take for you to see that your skin had cleared up significantly? (I mean if you had acne)

I've been using oil cleansers for a while now. It's nice to see it catching on, it's really great for removing makeup and leaving your skin fresh and clean. (:

You can also simply buy a cleansing oil, you don't have to make one. They are relatively cheap, and effective in removing stubborn makeup. Asian beauty secret. ;)

It took about 2 weeks for me to see a change in breakouts although there was an immediate change in the softness and how hydrated my skin was. The first week was worse, the oil brought all the little bumps and stuff to the surface but afterwards it just got better and better

Thanks for the info, Brittany!
I just have a few questions for you, since I'm interested in this method. c:
One: you only oil wash once a day, right? Preferably at night?
Two: If I decided to use moisturizer during the day, should I go for an oil free one, or should I just use another oil, like Jojoba?
I'm so excited to try this. c:

This looks so interesting! I'm always looking for new skin remedies :) question- my skin gets oily as the day progresses, but I don't really have any blemishes, would you still recommend this for my skin type?
Jun 8, 2013
Brittany O.
Gary- yes only at night, and I still moisturize in the day with my normal moisturizer. In the morning I just splash my face with water and use a toner and moisturizer!
Berkeley- I highly recommend this to anyone! You really see a difference in your skin and it's affordable, the link tells you how to make the mix for each skin type :)
