Splitting nails

So I am working with wet hair, a lot and it seems to really be softening my nails and splitting them down the middle.

I use OPI nail envy,as well as the acryic base coat and essie super duper top coat. I am at a loss for what else I can do w/o getting a gel set on top of them. Any suggestions?

Hey Kristina I had the same problem I am always washing my hands or working with water in the salon atmosphere. I use the Sally Hensen Hard as Nails clear polish. My nails are always chipping and breaking but since ive used this every week I have noticed a difference. Same problem here; the whole thing started when working in hospital: too many hand washings and alcohol and such, then I decided to move and I'm still growing out the 'damage' but in the meantime it's driving me nuts because the ends remain brittle and thin, this means the nail polish doesn't last at all; regardless of what type I use.
