Hey girls(: so I recently got my cartilage pierced and I have been washing it and taking good care of it! However I have sensitive skin so it still hurts a lot... I have had it for about 2 weeks... Any tips and how long does the pain last?

What is it pierced with? it should be titanium - get a good piercer to change it if not. what are you washing it with? should be a weak sea salt and boiled (not boiling!) water solution. :-) most important rule - other than washing it, leave it well alone!! ;-D.

I got it pierced with a gun and the solution that they give you and I don't really touch it... I think it might be because I have really sensitive ears :/ haha but thanks and I will show you where I got it done(:

I've had mine done for over a year and it doesn't really ever stop being sensitive at least it hasn't for me.

Yeah - guns arent good and the metal is usually pretty poor quality! bodyjewelleryshop.com has a good forum on piercing care. :-)

It will be sore for a while, you just had a needle stabbed through it. lol Cartilage piercings take like 6 months to a year to heal all the way. I use the gold Dial anti bacterial hand soap, used it for my belly button piercing too. Works great!

I've had mine done for about a year now and I still can't sleep on it because it gets sore! I think it just depends on the person :)

Honestly, that is a spot that shouldn't even be getting done with a gun. The quality is probably poor, like Katie said, you want titanium, and be careful to make sure it isn't just titanium plated. Since it is still fresh I would go into an actual shop and talk to a piercest there, they will hook you up with good jewelry, change it for you, and possibly suggest a different solution for cleaning (take what you were give in with you. It should be fine, but still)

It'll hurt.. It'll hurt bad for awhile. Mine hurt for almost 3 months, and couldn't sleep on it for 5! It'll stop hurting though. I don't even notice it now.

Yikes. It's really not good to get it pierced with a gun. I have my indistrial pierced and it was tender for a month or so and hurt more if I slept on it that night. Make sure you do sea salt soaks and go to a professional piercer if you have any questions on care and healing.
