Hair chalking with normal pastels? What do you think and do you have any tips?

I have normal hair chalk and the best advice I have is to seal your hair with hairspray before and after mabye even a dry shampoo could work and make sure your not wearing the outfit your planing on wearing although I'm not sure how a pastel would go but there's no harm in trying :)
