How do I avoid the white "powder" look in photos?

Congratulations Yvette!!
Go for products that don't contain SPF for a non-ghostly look. I think you should try a translucent powder vs a mineral powder because you don't want a dewy look either;) hope this helped

Avoid HD powders or anything that contains Titanium Dioxide as one of the first ingredients. Get a makeup setting spray like skindinavia or the like. After you apply powder (with a powder puff, roll it into the skin and brush off the excess) spray with the setting mist.

Have a look at pixiewoo on YouTube. They have some fab tutorials on wedding makeup. Even if you choose not to use their look at least it may give you some ideas. Agree with melanie, invest in a setting spray and don't forget to trial your makeup a week or so beforehand to see how it holds up.
