How To Wear A Peplum Skirt?

So I bought a few peplum skirts in maroon, royal blue and grey and every time I try to wear them they either look too dressed up or office-y. any suggestions as to how I can dress them down? :)

Wear a nice maybe white slouchy vest with it with a nice long necklace, hair in a plait/ messy :)
