Using the milk this way will give you all day matte during regular to cold weather. during extreme heat/humidity you may need to blot/touch up once, twice at the most. It's not harmful for you at all. in fact its good for your skin if you use it as a very thick mask once or twice a week at night for about 10-15 minutes and will tighten pores, reduce acne, draw out impurities. It's just too drying if you wear it directly onto skin daily as a primer without some moisturizer first. If you want all day matte even during extreme heat/humidity, splurge a bit on Skindinavia No More Shine and work it into this routine by following Using the milk this way will give you all day matte during regular weather.

-Start off in the morning with cleansing and toning with something for oily skin. Alba Botanica, Avene and Desert Essence all have cleansers and toners that work well with oily skin while on budget. Next apply a matte moisturizer. If you are on budget, Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean oil control lotion, Avene (NOT aveeno) Emulsion Lotion or even PURE Aloe Vera gel work fabulously by balancing and hydrating After moisturizer has absorbed, get a bottle of PLAIN milk of magnesia. It doesn't matter if it's phillips or another brand as long as it's plain. Shake the bottle. Get a flat top kabuki or a cosmetic sponge and moderately pat it onto your face especially where you get oiliest. Allow for it to dry and smooth out white spots. They will completely disappear. This is part one of oily primer on budget. After the milk you can apply any tinted moisturizer or foundation (liquid, mousse, cream, gel, stick, powder, mineral) as long as it is OIL FREE. It doesn't matter if it is dewy finish, satiny, semi matte or matte. If its high end or drugstore. Just read the ingredients because some products claim to be matte yet still contain oil while a dewy foundation could be water based. ALSO to further help you make sure your blushes, bronzers, eye shadows etc, ARE ALL OIL FREE!

It's helped my skin a ton surprisingly! I'm less oily, less acne prone, less acne in general! I can definitely tell when I've used it and when I haven't.
