I've never really used any foundation or anything with the worry it would look fake. I have seen plenty of people look funny because they are not wearing it right. It is something I probably need though. I want to try one that will blend well and match my skin tone without looking awful. Any suggestions on brands that are the best that I could try? preferably one that will last all day.

I like rimmel match perfection because it gives a light - medium coverage and blends in well so looks quite natural :)

I'd start with a light-medium coverage so you can get a feel for foundation, and see how you like it. I like CoverGirl Natureluxe (or something like that), because it is light and it wears nicely. Good luck :)

Or go to Ulta or Sephora and check out the BareMinerals line if you're up for spending a little more. It's a powder foundation, so it will feel light on the skin, and they have tons of colors to choose from. Any of the employees there will be happy to help you determine your shade :)

It's not cheap but the most natural looking foundation I've ever used is Illamasqua's skinbase.

Get color matched, and be sure to blend. I suggest using a BB cream, or a CC cream if you are new to base/foundations.

BB&CC creams are great, lightweight, natural looking, correcting base/foindation/moisturizer all in one. Do some research, and good luck!

Because its summer time I second Amanda in using BB creams instead. Tarte has a good one, alone with Smashbox. Garnier's is nice but I think it making me break out...Foundation wise so far Makeup Forever HD is the only one I've found that I like and matches well with my skin.

BB cream is great to start off since its not too noticeable and hard to stuff up
