I think the color you used for your inner eye and lid are to dark. That or you need a deeper black around your outer V.

You could do just a tiny bit of light color in the inner corner if you wanted.and add some lashes to three top. But it looks good.

Same as Erin and maybe blend your eyeshadow a bit more in the crease.

This is actually a really great try! What would take it to the next level would be to take a shade lighter on to a fluffy brush and to blend in the colors. The line is too harsh, but the color is great. Also, add a bit of shape! Take the outer corner edge out a bit, but make sure to blend!!

Good try! but you need to use more than one color. a really light one in the teardrop. then the color in the middle. and in the crease and outer corner it should be darker. and you really got to blend a lot!

The trick with a smokey eye is to have the outer corner smoke out meaning the darkest color should be just on the outer corner and blended up and out a bit with a lighter color on the inner 2/3rds. I like your look but its too dark all over to be considered a smokey eye. try a light color all over your lid then with a fluffy brush touch the outer corner and follow your crease in just a tiny bit using a back and forth motion. Give it another go and let me know how it turns out! Youtube has some great makeup tutorials by the way. I could stay up all night watching them!

All you need to do is blend, blend, blend! Blend the colour up towards your eyebrow and apply a light shadow on the inner corners and the brow bone to highlight! x

It's good for the first time trying a true smokey eye, you just need to blend the edges out and smudge out the bottom lash line :-)

And Don't ad a lighter color on the corners of your eye not every eye shadow look needs that.

When people ask me how I do my eye makeup I say allways the same:try and if it's not well,it doesn't its matter!it's only makeup!if it doesn't work for you, wash your face and try again!why so serious?

I agree with cris. people are so nervous about makeup. sit in front of a mirror, watch some youtube makeup tutorials and play! thats the only way your going to get any better!

Try focusing the darker colors more towards the outer corner and not so much on the lid. Makes a hugeeee difference.

Blend!! Blending is extremely important with eye shadow especially smokey eyes. The purpose of blending is to soften any harsh edges not turn everything into a solid colored mess so don't do it so much you have two black eyes! :P.

Your eye shape is amazing for this but keep the dark below the crease and only on the outer corner in a triangle and highlight the inner corner in a triangle shape. Then blend like crazy. Also you'd benefit from doing a nice gold and shimmer black like dark soul MAC pigment.
