Graduation Hair Style Help Please?

This is for my 8th grade graduation banquet, ceremony, and farewell dance/party tonight. My friend is going to curly my hair just like this, but what can I do to make it more fun? I don't want just curly hair, I want to do something with it. I was thinking pin it to one side, but I feel like a lot of girls are doing that.

Pin it with a flower clip. Or use a head band.

Water braid it and curl it. You could also do like a half up do.

I know this looks a bit complicated, but I've seen tutorials and it actually isn't that hard. It also depends how much of it you want up :/ (mermaid french plait)
