Just cut layers into it - when you go to the hair dresser tell them you only want to take 1-2 inches off the length and do layers and framing around your face - that's what I usually do and it still stays long just feels lighter.

I told my hair desser I wanted layers around my face , keep t length and I wanted a v cut! The v cut gave me nice Long layers keeping my hair long :)
