I have really dry skin on nearly all of my body apart from my hands and neck and sometimes is quite embarrasing because when i sit down and get back up again all of my trousers have dry skin on them and my cardigan because i go to a school were we have to wear school uniform. Also i have very dry legs and i would like to wear shorts and skirts more but i cant and i dont have the money to keep buying tights for them to ladder on me!! So if you have a cure for dry skin or an amazing remedy that could keep the dry skin at bay i would be soo sooo grateful to you. I will try anything im soo in need!!! Thankyou ......

I used to get really dry chapped hands in the winter and have super dry legs. Eucerin Calming Creme has alleviated all of that! You should check it out!

I have dry skin too and recently was surprised by Nivea's Moisture IQ lotion with a hint of summer! It's basically a moisturizer + gradual tanner but it leaves my skin hydrated for over 24 hours and the color is beautiful and natural so it looks as though I was just outside in the sun rather than colored orange! lol

Lush have a wide range of moisturisers that are so gentle and soothing, so they won't upset your skin even more. I would also recommend Palmer's Cocoa Butter. if all else fails, try a thick lotion made for eczema. My brother had eczema and my legs were so dry it looked like I had scales (I know, yuck xD), so that did the job better than most moisturisers, but only use it if your skin is flaking, otherwise it's just a waste.

AmLactin lotion has lactic acid in it and it's meant for extremely dry skin, including eczema and psoriasis. It is available at walmart, cvs, walgreens, target..Goodluck =)
If this lotion does not help, I would visit a Dermatologist.

Cetaphil Body Mositurizer is really good for dry skin. I know from experience since I also have super dry skin and this Lotion is part of my daily routine. Coco butter is also very good. I prefer the one that comes in the jar against the liquid lotion. Give those two a try :)

I love the Eucerin Calming Creme - I have very dry, sensitive skin year-round, but especially in the winter. Another thing that's helped for me is how I moisturize after a shower. I used to just use lotion, but I find that if I use baby oil or olive oil right after showering, it really locks in moisture and makes my skin much less itchy and more tolerable throughout the day.
Hope you find something that works for you! I know how much it sucks :/

I have dry skin and a skin condition called psoriasis which means i have dry skin patches. I have a moisturiser from my doctor because i use so much and i have a large tube of diprobase an it is brilliant for dry skin. There is also E45 which is similar but you do not need a doctor to prescribe. With moisturisers it about putting it on thick so you are all white and then letting it sink in before doing anything or putting clothes on.
For holidays as i like a small bottle there is Garnier Intensive 7 Days, Ultra-Softening Lotion with Shea Butter for Extra-Dry Skin. This is also really good but it again needs time to sink in like all really heavy moisturisers.

I use Eucerin, but believe it or not, I love Nivea and PONDS (Old School but works). I suffered so much this weekend. My face was so dry that when I was crying during a movie, my skin burned...That is dryness right?

I use Eucerin in the winter because I deal with the same issue. Snowflakes everywhere. And I switch up with AmLactin lotion as well. I rotate between those two and at least once I month I apply this homemade salve (olive oil, honey, vitamin E oil) throw on some comfy pj bottoms and sleep with it overnight. The next morning when I shower I use a non-sulfate body cleanser and chase with moisturizer. It helps big time.

Along with all these other great tips, it's REALLY important that you are hydrating yourself enough too. My skin gets super dry itchy if I haven't been drinking enough water. You might also consider putting a small humidifier in your room at night.

One thing I found super helpful for my dry skin, was to make sure my skin was in the right condition to moisturize!
I had tried tons of lotions, but found they would absorb and my skin would be dry again in minutes. Exfoliating with harsh body scrubs and hot water made my skin raw and stripped of moisture. But what I found works for me is this type of loofa buffing pad! It's gentle, and when used in a circular motion with a calming body scrub (I personally recommend Burt's Bees Radiance Body Wash) it gets rid of dead skin but keeps the new skin healthy. After, I use Aveeno Skin Relief Body oil before rinsing off. Then I find my skin is soft and ready to absorb lotion and moisture much better.
