I've tried them before but they never worked and one side would always peel off so what is a good brand of them and how do you use them properly?

It could be the glue your using.

First trim the outer corners to fit your eye. Then bend them in a you shape, to make them adhere on the corners better. Apply thin layer of glue to band of lashes. Wait 30 seconds til glue is tacky. Apply using a pair of tweezers to push onto lash line. Hope this helps! If not, watch videos on YouTube, and look up the beauty vault. They have a good lash demo video. (:
