Good skincare comes before makeup. You can have the most expensive high end makeup ever and it will look bad if you don't take care of your skin properly! Also, when looking for foundations, get samples from stores and try them outside -- natural light shows slight shade differences that indoor lighting doesn't.

The basics will also help with makeup - though I love a high hand blush or mascara etc.if my foundation isn't right it doesn't matter how much or how good that blush is. Basics are key: primer, foundation or bb cream, concealer.

I agree with Hannah! A good skincare routine is s must! Also have fun and don't be afraid to experiment with what style/color palette works best for you. :)

Besides skincare do your research and watch tutorials a lot. I would get reviews on any product before you purchase stuff and start with drugstore stuff because it is easy on the wallet. Technique is key so build your brush collection as soon as possible?
