I love the foam. So quick and easy if I don't have the time/money/energy to do the permanent dye from sallys.

I would just strip it at a salon! I've learned to just pay the extra for you will mess it up yourself.

Or have them die it back.

If you're going for flat color the foam dye works great. It doesn't drip and provides excellent even coverage and is super easy to work with. I liked both the John Freida and Garnier dyes.

I love the John Frieda foam hair color. It's the only kind I use!

I tried it once and really didn't like it. It smelled worse and it was harder to tell if you missed spots or not, and it ran out more quickly. I wasn't a fan.

Jen I'm surprised you say it runs out quicker. I have very long hair and it used to take 2 boxes of normal creme/liquid dyes but only 1 box of the foam dyes for me. I also have noticed less smell. As it's a foam it expands to more fully wrap around each hair strand to dye better.

@El O. That's cool that it worked out for you, but I don't know, it just didn't work for me. I have relatively long hair and I can usually get away with one box dye depending on the brand, but I only got it through half of my hair with the foam. If it works for you, more power to you, but I don't like it.
