Elf has makeup brushes for a reasonable price and I heard ulta Carries the real techniques brushes and they are also very affordable. I hope this helps.

Real techniques brushes are pretty good and they're not pricey either.

I got a nice travel set of Sonia Kashuk ones at Target for like $20. The foundation brush is great and so are most of the eye brushes (though the smudge brush is a little stiff and prickly). I have been having shedding issues with the blush brush though.

Real Techniques, hands down are the best brushes for your buck. They are synthetic, so they can be used with powder or cream, and they are easy to maintain. I'd add a crease blending brush from either Soho or the target house brand, though the Revlon crease brush would work in a pinch.
