I just bought some toner, now what?

I read online a few days ago how great toner is for your skin so I bought some today but when do I use it? I bought the L'Oreal brand. I normally clean off my makeup with astringent and then wash my face in the morning or when I take a shower. where do i add in toner to my regimen?

most people use toner right after cleansing their face and before moisturizer. it's supposed to restore pH balance of your face.

I never used to use toner as I found it dried out my (oily) skin too much. Recently though, I've been using one from LUSH. It comes in a spray bottle and I spritz my face while it's still damp (after washing) and then apply my eye & face cream. I don't wipe it off so it gets sandwiched under my moisturizer and I find it works very well.

I use a softner, is that the same as a toner? The softner helps my skin absorb the moisterizer and leaves my face feeling really smooth

I LOVE TONER! I occasionally break out and it's usually when I've become lazy and stopped using my toner. Toner is really soothing for your skin. I have the clinique brand. Which is great since Clinique gives you options depending on the kind of skin you have. If ur toner was drying ur skin out you were using the wrong one. Toner helps get rid of all of the nastiness no soap can really get out of your skin, it refreshes your skin and keeps it clear. Use after washing your face, before your moisturizer! :)

I started using toner about 3 years ago and I love it I have como skin and sometimes it can get tricky! I cleanse my face first then I use Sea breeze toner to get the acess oil or makeup after that I add my moiturizer =) its good to get yourself on a daily regimen hope this helps!

Thank you everyone for all your help. I washed my face like I normally do, then put the toner. I forgot to put on my daily lotion, but the toner still kept my face sooooo silky smooth xD

i would sugeest the clarifying lotion from clinique because it has salacylic acid in it and it will help exfoliate the skin for more even tone and keeps you skin clear and not patchy for dry and flaky generally you would want to get a facial soap and a hydrator for oily skin and or a lotion for dry skin to keep your skin comfortable toner is a important part of skin care but you dont want just a bottle of alcohol my advice is dont get the toner with out the other two i mentioned if you want to see a difference and results and use it twice a day and i dont suggest the same wash cloth and i use babywipes and use cotton rounds for the toner i hope this helps someone
