Eye base colours?

I'm looking for a base colour on my eye that's natural to give me a plain canvas to work on before applying my eyeshadow, I don't know if I want anything matte or shimmery because everything seems to have shimmer? Such as the Mac paints/paint pots/cream colour bases.
What are your favourites that work for any natural eye? (Since they're the only types of eye looks I do)

The Revlon Creme Shadows work well as bases an not all of them are shinmery.

NYX eyeshadow base, it has no colour tint but neutralizes the eyelid. It's creamy and makes shadows pop! Cheap too only $5-$6.

This might sound dumb but I use concealer. A super light one and then start the look. It always works for me.
