Basically, you want to use a product that is matte and darker than your skin but still a natural skin tone - so nothing super orange/glittery. the point is to create a shadow - so you will apply your contour product under the areas you want to look more prominent. So, if you want your cheekbones to pop, apply it from the top of your ear out toward your nose - a good place to stop is when it lines up with your pupil. You can feel your cheekbones with your fingers to help figure out where to apply.

You can make the nose look slimmer by applying your contour product along both sides of the nose.

you can slim the forehead by applying by the temples.

Basically you want to make a 3 from the sides of your forhead and then in the hollows of the cheeks then along your jaw line..you should also do your hairline along the forhead.

Contouring and highlighting is different for every face shape. Purple=highlight
Pink=contour

Rebecca the picture Crisel posted is good and the info the other ladies provided is good as well but just keep in mind not everyone face is the same and not every face need's all of the contouring and for me that seems to be the biggest misunderstanding women have when it comes to contouring.It's meant to build your face or enhance, when I look at your pictures you have a great face and nice cheek bones which I think can benefit from contouring but as for your nose I say no..It's really up to you to try it and see if it's for you and blend it very well because I've seen so much of the not so cute contour a lot lately ,not blended, not the right color.I prefer to use a shade darker liquid foundation because it sets better and it looks a bit more natural which helps the illusion more and of course a matte contour powder, HERE's ANOTHER Tip try to use a contour powder versus a matte bronzer because some bronzes which are made for all over face tan effect anyways can give you a reddish tone that most don't realize or a muddy terracotta look.But if you happen to find a bronze you like and sets right go for it.Hope this helps  :-)
