You so can! but your red hair is gorgeous! black or a dark brown may wash you out. You should remain with a warm color honey blonde, straberry blonde coppers look great and bring out your gorgeous eyes. If you wanna go darker you can try a medium brown or a carmel brown color, try not to go lower than a level 4 naturally you are about a 7!

I think light brown or a shade of blonde would be pretty. But you could probably pull off a dark brown. But just to warn you , once you dye it dark you have to keep up with the roots or dye it back and it's REALLY annoying. But go with what you like :)

If you try going darker, don't use a permanent color. Use something like a glaze, similar to Clairol Jazzing. It won't last very long, but you might be glad it doesn't. That will be a good way to try out darker hair without a long commitment.

I would use a brown enhancing shampoo and conditioner for something less drastic. You could also go demi permanent. The problem with dyeing red hair is that it is usually more coarse and resistant to dyes, leaving it looking patchy if you do it at home. Normally natural redheads go blonde because of the double processing and it goes more with their natural features. And ignore Lexi, obviously you asked about dyeing... not shaving.
