Preparation H ointment. It reduces the inflammation. It sounds ridiculous, but it works within a few hours!

Visene to get rid of the redness, Neosporin to treat the pimple.

Hi Angie
I am a sufferer of dermatillomania aka obsessive compulsive picking disorder ( it's a chronic form of skin picking derived from anxiety ) and honestly it really sucks but I've managed to keep my skin beautiful and mostly scar free regardless. First off, I don't mean to be rude to the other ladies posting but visine is only temporary ( meaning it only decreases redness for a few hours) and may increase irritation if you have sensitive skin. Neosporin is a good idea at night Time before you go to bed. Apply and cover with a bandage and you'll be amazed at the difference in the am! The big factor here is keeping the area moist. The moistness creates the ideal environment for the picked pimple / scab to heal! Tea tree oil is good for drying the area up but I would only recommend this for pimples which have not been messed with. The tea tree oil dries out the area and if the skin is broken it will lead to scarring :(... ( continued in next post )
