So I have never been the one to wear a lot of makeup. Usually just eyeliner an mascara. But I want to start wearing eyeshadow; pretty much I want a new look. What's the best makeup to use/buy?

Maybelline super stay 14hr lipstick, it lasts a long time, doesn't dry out your lips and is inexpensive.

Or for lip gloss Revlon color stay lipglaze. As for mascara I love the colossal volume express, attaching a picture of all three :)

Thanks :)
What's the best makeup overall? I heard Mac is good. But it's bad for your skin---true?
I'm looking for like foundation, eyeshadows, primer, everything just about. I'm a 21 yr old mom, fiancé, student, && hard worker. I want to start looking like the woman I should be.

A palette with several colors/finishes would be a good place to start so you can experiment with different combinations. The Naked Palette or the Lorac Pro would both be a great choice. NYX has a ton of palettes too if you're looking for a less expensive option.

If you wear foundation I'd suggest Fit Me with a BB cream for a primer. I use this one..

I'm sure they have some for sensitive skin, but I too have sensitive skin and the products don't cause a problem :)

Since you are new and we can't tell everything about your skin type or colour I suggest going to a department store and seeing a make up consultant for mac, Clinique, Estée Lauder and Lancôme. All these are good brands. Each have products which are brilliant. Mac is really good for lipsticks, Estée Lauder double wear foundation is like a godsend for me. Clinique has a great skin care range, an their powders are quite good. Lancôme also has good skin care and their lipsticks and mascaras are good. Oh and bare minerals, brilliant if you are g one for a heavy full face of make up

Can I suggest Arbonne? Its botanically based and 100% vegan certified. Its amazing for sensative skin and it has a complete line of stuff, baby care (lotion, wash, sunscreen, diaper cream) skin care systems (anti-aging, oily/combination, dry, acne) Shampoos and Conditioners, Makeup, and Nutrition (vitamins, mineral shakes ect) Up until a few months ago, that was all I had in my bathroom, then my daughter decided to be like mommy one day, and everything is wrecked dumped and smushed :(. But the brand is amazing. you should really look into it :) www.arbonne.com.

When youre first learning to apply go for super cheap stuff so if you use it all practicing it won't hurt your wallet. remember some prestige cosmetics are just a brand and happen to advertise well.

Also you said you want to start looking like the wonan you should be, beauty comes from the inside, no amount of makeup will make you truly feel pretty.

Thanks everyone :)
Maybe the whole woman thing came out wrong. I guess I want to look my age and mature. I look so young, as in a little girl without makeup.

MAC is awesome foundation. I've been wearing it for the past three years. Investing in foundation is a really good choice. MAC also has the best lipsticks. I won't let any other brand even come near my lips. For everything else, please check out eyeslipsface.com, often referred to as the brand "ELF", they're also sold at Target. They're large eyeshadow palettes are wonderful, cheap, and most of the colors have really good payoff. I got a 144 color set for $15 at Target around the holidays. ELF also has some of the best brushes in my opinion, varying from $1-$6 dollars, most of them being $3.
Lastly, YOUTUBE!! Everything I've learned from makeup has been completely off of Youtube. It's great to learn new ideas, techniques, color schemes and just have a good laugh sometimes. Good luck :-)

I have extremely sensitive skin too! I suggest staying away from Mac, it actually bleached my friends skin!
Some products I use are:
Eyeshadow: Urban Decay, Smashbox, Marcelle, Maybelline Color Tattoo
Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion (Eyes), Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer (Face)
Foundation: L'Oreal True Match
Eyeliner: Revlon Kohl eyeliner, Almay Pencil liner, L'Oreal Felt tip eyeliner
Lipstick: Revlon, Mac, Clinique
Mascara: Maybelline the Rocket, Clinique High Impact Mascara (for a more natural look)

Yeah Mac is talked about a lot but for my 21st birthday back in April, my friend did my makeup cuz she wanted to and used Mac. It felt heavy for me.
Right now I use bare minerals makeup.

Thanks ladies for all the great tips and help :)
