Put a price of paper in the way of your eyeshadow so mascara goes on the paper instead.

And Tori, it all about practice! Haha or you can use any flat surface to block the mascarra!
You can also try getting a dryer mascarra that won't transfer as easy (ex. The illegal length)

I find tilting my head back helps keep my from hitting my shadow.
also, you can put your finger on the outside corner of your eye, & stretch the skin out so it kind of fans out the lashes better & tilts them more forward as opposed to upwards.. if that makes sense ;3
