hey dolls
so the august heat is killing me - and my makeup too!
i wake up with my best friend, the A/C, put on some primer, some powder [real foundation
only for winter! can't take it in the summer!]. get my eyes colored, my mascara on, my blush
extra heavy because i KNOW in half an hour - ALL of my makeup would be as transparent as
if i've never had anything on!
i was pondering over purchasing one of urban decay's setting sprays. in general -
i know there are a lot of setting sprays out there. and they are not cheap!
what DO YOU THINK? is it a good buy? does it actually hold your blush on? we
can use eye and face primers but it really pisses me off that blush goes away so quickly in the
summer. i want to be able to leave the house without the entire product selection i used on my
face before leaving, just for touch ups.
does it deliver? yay or nay?

I swear by my Urban Decay De-Slick.. Even the All Night Setting Spray. Haute Look is having a sale on them right now too! But honestly, I find my $3 E.L.F. Mist & Set to work JUST as great! I'd definitely read some reviews on MakeupAlley.. But IMO they are definitely worth it! I'd die without them in this heat, x

I have the Skindinavia Finishing Spray that I got at IMATS back in April. I love it a lot!! I've noticed that when I use it my makeup looks even better then it did before! It gives a gorgeous dewey finish to the face and really does make it last longer! Its quite pricey, but you get a huge bottle that will last forever.

the UD is actually the same as Skindinavia if you read the fine print on the bottle. And yes, BUY IT!!! I use all Nighter in lieu of powder to set my foundation, and it holds it in place all night.
I recently went out with friends on a sticky July night in NYC, then committed the cardinal sin of not removing my makeup before bed. I swear when I woke up the next morning my foundation was still perfect.
You still want to use primers. Also if you are using a powder, put this on after creams/liquids, but before powders if possible (I don't know what your blush formula is). I've noticed it can't sometimes gunk up setting powders.

i use Mac Fix+ and also do not bother wearing foundation during the summer, use Waterproof Mascara as well

I use the urban decay de-slick setting spray and I have extremely oily skin. Without my spray, I will walk out of my house and have no makeup on within the next half an hour. The spray prolongs the life of my makeup to at least the end of a whole day out in the sun (excluding vigorous exercise).

The Elf Setting Spray is practically just water in a spray bottle, and has no benefits whatsoever (especially if you have oily skin). I recommend going for an Urban Decay one, All Nighter is my favorite.Those really do the job. Also, Mary P. is right, you should try some Waterproof Mascara and longer lasting products.
