I really like the Beautylish App and all the advice/reviews you posts. I would like to see some versatility on new hair trends or haircare for ethnic hair types. (I am Puerto Rican and Jamaican so my hair is curly, very thick, and a little coarse.) BTW: I flat iron my hair because I no longer relax my hair.

Just moisturizing really, I have bought afro hair products and found they have broken her hair, so I bought mixed chicks and that doesn't really seem to have improved it. I know this may sound stupid but I thought once her hair would get to a certain length she would have drop down curls but alas it is just sticky out afro all uneven and a mess!! I cornrow or flat rope twist it and love taking it out when its all stretched, but once she sleeps on it we're back to square one!!

I know how frustrating it is when you finally find a style that works then you sleep on it and it looks as if you never styled it. What I find works for kids is to use a whipped moisturizer like shea moisture or cantu's leave in conditioner to moisturize. Then use a little coconut oil to seal they moisture in and then style the hair. Its best to do it at night then tie the hair down with a silk or satin scarf. For styling purposes try doing bantu knots. The end results are much prettier. As far as the way her curls fall.... If he hair is fine... her curls may not drop. normally medium to thick hair does that.

IM a hairstylist as well but iAlso have an issue with my daughter's hair because her texture is more coarse and seems drier than mine so this really helped me :)
