I used a primer about a year ago and made my face break out so bad so I stopped using it at all and now I see all the different options and ingredients out there!
I have oily skin, larger pores at the top of my cheek area and just slight "laugh lines".
I broke it down to 3; tarte 12 hour perfecting primer, Korres pomegranate primer, and one from cover fx.
Any opinions on these products or recommendations of your own is welcomed :)

Never tried any of the ones you have mentioned. Personally for oily skin I like smashbox oil free primers, their range is amazing. Also my favourite is primed and poreless by too faced

I use the Tarte primer. I have oily skin and large pores. I love it.

I have super oily skin and visible pores. I don't like the way Smash Box primers feel on my face, and it doesn't really help with my heinous laugh lines or pores. (I've used even their oil-free and 'light' primers but still no bueno) I really like Tarte primers, Benefit's Porefessional is great (I have really deep laugh lines so this actually does help a bit) I got a sample of the new Loreal primer and it kinda does the same thing as Porefessional but it doesn't smell great or feel as light. Make Up Forever has a really nice light feeling primer, I think it does really well with large pore blurring and making sure makeup doesn't settle in my laugh lines (they were still visible though) Benefit has a new primer that is a 15 hour makeup 'magnet' I've just used it once, and it seems to be the same as any other primer... I'll have to test it out a bit more before I can form a solid opinion though. (Maybe I put too much, or not enough, so test, test, test time! Heh!)

From what I've read in a few beauty articles is that if you use a moisturizer before you apply your makeup a primer isn't really necessary. all a primer does is "prime" your face for makeup, meaning that it helps the product stick to the skin better. an acne fighting moisturizer will do the same thing. I use Lush Vanishing Cream. its $45 and lasts about 5 months. its got great blemish fighting ingredients like witch hazel, lavender and rose

Try the laura mercier primer. its really good for good coverage and also you won't get breakout if you have oily skin or anything since its perfect for all skin types. Hope that helps (also try a sample from sephora before getting one just to test out the product)
