Whenever I try to put concealer on my problem areas, it "cakes up" and you can see cracks in it. How can I make that stop?

Wash your face, moisturizer, primer, then your concealer. You barely need any if you're putting your foundation on top! Xoxo follow me.

-use a moisturizer
-use a silicone based primer (your problem area looks cakey if its dry or is a rough surface. I recommend the hard candy sheer envy primer in the ultra light formula)
-apply the concealer in a dabbing motion with your finger or with a damp sponge
-apply teanslucent powder (the pigment in powders with coverage will make the problem areas look super cakey on a non-smooth area of your face especially for dry skin)
-spray a setting mist (optional)

Use very little, and blend it really really well. Add another coat if you need more coverage. Also try using different tools (different types of brushes, makeup sponges or your fingers) and see if that helps! Good luck!

I think you're not moisturizing enough. Be sure to moisturize twice daily, and use a thicker moisturizer at night. I just like using extra virgin olive oil at night and then a Cetaphil moisturizer in the morning.
