I had the same problem a while back and I also didn't want to take it off so I kept a bandaid over it for the longest amount of time until my friend accidentally broke it off. Honestly I'd suggest just carefully taking it off and shaping it so that it won't get caught on anything and use cuticle cream/oil to help the nail grow back. Hope it helps!

You can use nail glue to keep it on.

First you put clear nail polish on, then as its drying you put a small section of a tea bag on the broken part. Then you put clear nail polish over the tea bag. And the you can peel the tea bag off when you feel your nail is strong enough. Hope it makes sense and helps! :)
