How do you kno what foundation matches your skin?

If you go to a beauty store like sephora they usually match your skin color. :)

Definitely test it on your jaw. But the problem is, when they match you at Sephora, or any of the makeup counters at Macy's, the light is extremely unnatural. So the foundation may match you in the store's lighting, when you step outside it could be completely different. I've recently had this problem. So have them color match you & get a sample. And then ask for a lighter sample of that foundation. As far as drug store goes, it's mainly trial and error.

I'm so lazy when it comes to facial makeup. My mom is the same exact color as me, so whatever color she wears I wear. Also, if your mom is relatively the same color and wears makeup. Use her as a reference point, then go lighter or darker if needed.

When youre out in natural sunlight and it doesn't look like you have a mask on. An experience cosmetologist should be able to match you perfectly.
