You could braid your hair in really lose braids. That's what I do :)

You can ether do a plait, a standard brad or you an use bumble and bumble surf spray on damp hair. It really creates awesome waves. You can also use Not Your Mothers if you're on a budget.

I was watching a hair video you can also buy a "waver" and it will wave your hair for you. Sort of like a crimper.

Sleep with your hair in a bun. if you want, you can apply either mousse, or sea salt spray on the wet/damp hair before you put it in the bun.

Do several small buns and use a sea salt spray. Not Your Mothers is an awesome one that works well. My hair is already wavy, but when I want it to look more windblown or messy or whatever, that's what I spray in it.
