I like both. When i do eye looks, i usually use drug store and higher end. I think for eye shadows and foundations its ok to spend more money. When it comes to mascara, i usually always use a maybelline one (illegal length is my fave!!). Lip gloss, my favorite right now is Jordana ASAP. Im not a big lip product person, so i use drugstore like revlon or jordana. Eyeliners I use high end(urban decay) and drugstore (elf cream liner, maybelline master precise, wet n wild coloricon pencil, nyx..). The eye shadows ive been using lately have been The body needs ($2 each), Elf 100 pc palette ($10), Lime Crime China Doll Palette, Wet n wild coloricon paletts ($2.99), Sleek Acid Palette ($10),and Urban Decay Book of shadow palettes. Blush I use MAC Tippy or Sally Hansen Poppy Love. i would use more high end if i had the money. :p though i have found that just because its costs more doesnt mean it works that great(like the too faced romantic palette..)

I agree, you get what you pay for. I'm strictly high end on my foundation, eye shadow and brushes. I've tried just about every drugstore foundation and eyeshadows there are out there and I'll never get them again. But I do use some Revlon lipsticks and other lower end lipglosses.

I think both high end and drugstore makeup products have their hits and misses. Some drugstore items are better quality then high end for the fraction of the cost, and some high end brands are worth spending more money on compare to their drugstore dupes, because of the quality. I think it should really come down to the product, not whether it is drugstore or high end.

I think Packaging has alot to do with it and lets face it normally High end products have the better more appealing packaging.!!!
Soo u laadies Like the Drugstore Lipsticks.. I haven't tried any in a while but i think i will be soon.. What are some of the best ones???
Nadia I agree On High end... But Liptsick.. i usually try to buy things that are mineral based of hydrating ... for that fact alone ...
Ashley i agree 100% you get what you pay for and i too buy minerl based products and I oove me some indie brands... I have been meaning to stock up on Bare Essential.. I am hearing its a great foundation when trying to acheive that everyday flawless but not "Madeup look"
Marissa I agree people seem to equate price with qulaity and that couldn't be futher from the truth in alot of instances... Sooo what are some of your favorite Drugstore items, and by which brand????
Alli I love your ratio because i can relate.. i go high end until my pockets says otherwise... alot ..lol
Tina Great reasoning.. may i ask which Drugstore brands are ur favorite and do u have any particular drugstore products u swear by????

L'Oreal is actually good liquid foundation for being a drug store brand and my favorite eye shadow palate ever is by Profusion and I bought it at Ross. NYC has cheap lipsticks with good pigmentation and who can pass up Sally Beauty Supplies 99cent mini nail polish, perfect for 'now' shades

(Jess) I absolutely love Maybelline mascara's.. they have worked better for me than any Dior mascara ever has
(Ashlee) I agree.. except i have a Smash Box Hd palette and the pigments fade really quickly even with primer or a base applied underneath.... But i haven't tried any drugstore primers.. maybe i should be glad:)..lol
(Candy) me too... I sometimes fall under the hype and try raved products but which gems have you found in the drugstore.. i'm trying to diversify my kit and i would love to add a few affordable items
(Deanna) I agree... Its about what you can pull off.. i have used some drugstore brand pigments with MAC primer and u wouldn't know the difference
(Shelley) Nice.. thats my take on it.. i am a mixture of both Drugstore and High-end.. Which Lipstick do
(Katrina) I actually really Like some Drugstore brand Mascra's because the high end one's i have tried... haven't been soo great but which ones do u use maybe i need to give them a try

(Bethany) I've never tried Jordana.. i am gonna get me some on my next trip to cvs.. how do u like the Elf Cream liner.. i have heard mixed reviews????? Agreed Just because it cost more doesn't mean it works great
(Savannah) Yes You get what u pay for.. i love the lower in End Lipglosses .. a few of my favorites have been drugstore brand
(Soraya)- Agreed it should come down to the quality or the product.. not whether its High end or Drug store.. but thats the grouping i can best describe them with
(Kitty) Right its all about what works best for you XOXO
(Rai) Thats a Fair and even opinion.. most of the response shave been the same...Both are indeed great darling..
(Valerie:) Wow I actually have the profusion palette and it is my absolute favorite because the colors last and they actually show up.. i looked into figuring out their manufacturer but found a dead in....Its just soo funny i thought i was the only person in the word with this palette i brought it because it was soo pretty pink and silver and i loved the pigment variety.. i haven't tried L'oreals foundations to date but which line do u prefer???

TJ Maxx and Ross seem to have the palates regularly. The one I have is $180
My favorite L'oreal foundation line is the true match

I definitely mix it up! I probably own more HE stuff because I love going and talking to the people working there and rambling about their new stuff, but some of my DS make up is some of my favourite. But I think a lot of the DS brands in the UK have excellent quality (Sleek, 17, Models Own, Barry M, MeMeMe, MUA, Collection has some really good stuff...), so it really makes no difference to me in much other than price and shopping experience.

@Tierra its worked good for me so far. I bought the angle eye liner brush to use with it, and works awesome!! it stays put for me and its very black.
I work at Ross and when we get the profusion palettes, some ladies come in and buy them all. lol I've yet to try them but some fellow co workers swore by them as well.

I remember buying the Estee Lauder double wear foundation a few years ago, I still don't think it was THAT much better than the drugstore foundation I wear now, which is the L'Oreal infallible foundation..
I think whatever it is, drugstore or high end, one should do her/his research before purchasing a product. I used to think mac foundations were probably amazing, until I tried one of them on myself in the store, so, so, so very thick. Too thick for my taste, man, would that feel heavy and cakey on my face.

Right now, I have mostly drugstore with some mid-end things....Stila, Urban, Estee Lauder, Benefit, Sephora brand, and I'm looking for more mid and high end things, in the future. But I am relatively happy with the performance of my drugstore stuff- plus, its not always that cheap, and they are making better products now than ever before. Wet n Wild keeps blowing me away with their eye shadows, for instance!

I have mostly drugstore because I love bargain hunting. I do have so high end stuff (MAC foundation, Too Faced Natural Eye palette..) but I'm mostly a drugstore girl. You can find so many things at the drugstore that most people would think is cheap or something. Wet n Wild has the best eye shadow I have ver tried, honestly.

I have a love for both. The two things I refuse to by high end are mascara's and lip liners. Foundations, high end. As for concealers, I used to do only high end til I found Black Opal. Eyeshadows and lipsticks are both. Blushes I've bought drugstore but I prefer higher end.

ATTENTION LADIES!!! Whom so ever is limited by a brand, status,or a fantasy idea of a makeup company is selling themselves short and is lacking true passion, knowledge and interest for Makeup itself. We all know that REAL artist and makeup junkies have no boundaries . There is truly something special about every brand that I have tried (over hundreds) and to be frank most of these brands are owned by the same companies anyway. Not to mention L'oreal ranking in the top 3 of highest selling makeup companies in the world.!!! Quality is everything and I have tried several high end companies and drugstore brands alike that lacked it.
so to answer this question there is enough Brittney T makeup Love to go around to drugstore and high end prestige makeup!! <3

I've found some really terrible high end brands but some really good lower end brands, so it all depends.
For drugstore I think NYX is amazing, also Essence and a few ELF products.
As for higher end I like a lot of brands but I always make sure I research the brand I'm thinking of buying because just because something is high end doesn't mean it's good. I've gone into MAC and swatched some terrible eyeshadows and blushes - why pay $47 aus when I can get a NYX blush that has amazing pigment for less than $10!

@Brittney T. Wow!! I'm lacking true passion, knowledge, and interest for make-up because 75% of my stash is Bobbi Brown? I think that is tad bit judgemental and insulting. I know for myself personally the reason why I buy up a lot of Bobbi is because it is a line that showed me much love when I was mistreated at another store (MAC). And every year Bobbi Brown sends me a full-size gift as a way of saying thank you for being such a great supporter (this year it was a $68 eye cream that works great for me). Its called brand loyalty. I'm loyal to her brand because of numerous positive results I've experienced with the products and the MUA's who respresent her line. I've explored other lines as well and I'm happy when I find something that works for me...both drug store and high-end. You shouldn't be so quick to label folks for what they favor the most because there are folks like Ashley S. whose skin can only afford going high-end and myself who happen to be a hardcore BB fan who collects just about everything she has.

Most of my collection is high-end, but there are so many amazing drugstore gems I couldn't live without (mascaras, lipsticks, even concealers!). Good and bad products exist at EVERY price point, but it's up to all of us to do our own research and decide what's worth a splurge.

I have a big mix of stuff! Some drugstore stuff has been awful, but so has some high end stuff. I think makeup is a really hit and miss kind of thing, and you'd be surprised what awesome finds you can get for less money! NYX for example is really inexpensive, but is amazing in my opinion!

Jordana R.
It depends on the product. For things like foundation I have no choice but to spend more because I have pale skin and drugstore brands just don't accommodate for pale people! Besides that I'm quite happy buying drug store make up! I do like to treat myself and splurge on high end make up every now and then though :)

@Brittney...
<<Whom so ever is limited by a brand, status,or a fantasy idea of a makeup company is selling themselves short and is lacking true passion, knowledge and interest for Makeup itself. We all know that REAL artist and makeup junkies have no boundaries.>>
I agree with Shelley; that's pretty insulting and condescending.
Anyway, I have a mix of drugstore and higher-end products, but for me, these days there are certain products that I will spend the money on -- foundation (largely because most drugstore brands don't cater to pale beauties in that department), powder eyeshadow (I've also had better fortune with higher end e/s, Sleek's palettes being an exception for me), and concealer (same reason as foundation).
