I use make up forever HD foundation and bobbi brown loose powder. But sometimes I feel it looks cakey and too powder-ish! Is there a way to have a smooth and simple look. A primer or a technique.. And I use the beauty blender and sometimes the stippling brush as an applicator.

Makeup setting spray makes it looks less cakey :)

Primer! A lot primers have ingredients in them to smooth out fine lines, wrinkles, and large pores. It gives your skin a smooth, flawless finish before your foundation goes on. & once you powder, and feel it's too cakey - follow up with a setting spray.

It also depends on the application. I like to use my beauty blender for a softer foundation look.

Exfoliate, hydrate, and primer! also, depending on what order you place your powder, foundation, etc. ( I usually do powder, foundation, and extra powder on tzone because I have oily skin)
