Also to note I have dry skin and I want to find something that won't dry my skin out any more than it should or leave any flakes

First I'd look into skin care if your skin is excessively flakey or dry, then I'd consider the Smashbox hydrating primer. It has hylauronic acid to bind moisture to the face do you stay hydrated all day. Works fantastically :)

Smash box hydrating primer is like a drink of water for your skin and if u want flawless application of foundation for dry skin make sure u exfoliate at least once a weak and u won't have flakey looking foundation
