Acrylic paint on nails, smudge?

When you use acrylic paint on your nails, does putting a clear top coat on top cause it to smudge?

Nope. I used it before to do an orange ombré. For me it was so much easier to work with than regular nail polish. I'd put at least two coats to seal it and definitely use a base coat of white or something similar to the paint's color.
