I just had a really bad breakout, so I was using some pretty heavy stuff to get rid of the pimples (it was some expensive little tube...retina or something?) It definitely worked, and I'n more zit free than I have been in years. I want to keep using it but it dries my face out to the point where I'm peeling...my friends even pointed it out the other day...should I keep using it or stop? I only used it once!

Retina is pretty strong. It should be used sparingly. For now, stop using it and try to rehydrate your skin. Use moisturizer and drink water. When your skin returns to normal, you can start using it again, but like a said before, sparingly! Apply pea sized amounts only where needed. You may only be able to use it every other day. I've learned all this from going to the dermatologist for a good 5 years! Lol.

I had the same thing happen to me too but with something else. What I started doing is learning how to make my own skin care products and my face has never looked so much softer and clear. So I would look up DIY face moisturizer for dry skin, as a wash use oatmeal it's very gentle and does it job, I mean I've been using a 5% sacyllic acid treatment on an allergic reaction I got. And it used to dry me up but now I don't get dried up at all. I haven't even used it cause the products I've been making are doing a much better job so I would look into it. Much cheaper and better results than the fancy high end creams and stuff I used to use.

Ok thanks girls!:) I stopped using the retina and am moisturizing pretty much every time I go into the bathroom so it's not noticably dry any more, but the pimples are coming back so I think I probably will use it again. I will definitely try some DIY moisturizers and masks, I just haven't gotten around to that yet!
